Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in October

Blueridge, Georgia is a quaint little town located close to the Tennessee and North Carolina state lines. This was the first stop after a 13 hour drive from Miami, Florida. Our longing was to see, feel and smell the fall. We got our wish. This picture was taken downtown Blueridge at the train station, where you find the famous Blueridge Scenic Railway train. Downtown was full of friendly folk, antique and art shops–decorated fashionably fall. The spirit of the Harvest enveloped the small town, creating an tender energy rarely found in today’s cities–pure un-adulterated┬ávibes radiating from the heart of the town.

“In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening — no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air.” -Alexander Smith
