at rest

Are you guys still here, blogging? So hope cause I’ve missed you!

It’s been a long time since I posted…this familiar place brings me back to that date when I received the word that my mother had Gioblastoma, a deadly cancer of the brain. They gave her a year after the surgery; she lived a year and a month almost to the date of the brain surgery–a year full of ups and downs. Most importantly, it was a year of closure.

Gone to another place and finally resting in peace is a woman who gracefully lived her life and who gracefully transcended it.

To lose a Mother…it’s unfathomable to some. I know it was for me. And, here I sit, typing these words, Motherless. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined it; never would I have imagined the aggressive brain cancer that took her from a world she loved.

Mom loved life; She was life!

She passed on July 6, 2015, 4:30 p.m., in her sleep, surrounded by her family: Her husband, my father, Cesar. Her grandchildren, my children, Britt, Scott and Timothy, and her children, my husband and me. It was the most unbelievable experience…the moment was unexplainable.

It is only now that I am able to write about it. It is now that I’ve decided is the best time to return to the blogging world. I may blog about the experience, but I will stick to what I love…photography and quotes. So happy to be back! 🙂

Thank you for those who supported me through this past year and some months. Welcome new followers.
