“There is nothing wrong with being afraid. When you fear, you see things in a different way.”

~Carlos Castanedas, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge

Truly love this picture as it reminds me of how peaceful yet fearful I felt because of the elements merging within this very highly energized “spot”. Took this picture during my 1987 road trip to the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival. At that time, there was no such thing as digital. You either developed your film or you took it to some one who did it for you. Unfortunately, I do not know how to develop film–I am an amateur; photography is a hobby. I depended on others to develop the film for me. The consequence: A beautiful shot ruined by the streaks caused by whatever machine they used to print the image. I was told by the manager of the store that all they could do was offer a refund. There was a move. In transition, negatives misplaced and lost forever. I’m still focused on finding a solution…someday…somewhere…cause I truly love this picture and the memories it conjures up in my mind’s eye.
